INSIDE DHARMA will be sponsoring a free screening of "Music from the Big House" as its annual fundraiser on Oct 18, 2012 at Webster University. MUSIC FROM THE BIG HOUSE features Rita Chiarelli, Canada’s Queen of the Blues, and her astounding pilgrimage to Louisiana State Maximum Security Penitentiary, a.k.a Angola Prison. The trip culminates in a rousing jailhouse performance with inmates who are serving life sentences. The movie will be shown in the Winifred Moore Auditorium, 470 E. Lockwood, Webster Groves, starting at 7pm. One of Inside Dharma’s meditation teachers and a newly released former inmate will speak briefly following the movie.

The screening is free, but donations will be accepted and appreciated. If you can’t make it to the movie, but would like to make a contribution, please visit the donation page at InsideDharma.net.

Inside Dharma is a non-profit, non-denominational Buddhist organization dedicated to offering information, support and encouragement to incarcerated and recently released individuals in a manner consistent with Buddhist principles. Inside Dharma offers meditation classes for inmates and ex-offenders, and provides reading materials and a bi-monthly newsletter to inmates in state institutions throughout the country.

Inside Dharma also engages in special projects serving the homeless community, which includes many ex-offenders. And we provide the 52-page Start Here St. Louis Area Resource Directory and website. Both have been very popular and we continue to receive requests for more directories, even after handing out over 10,000 copies to prisons, shelters, food pantries, libraries, parole offices, and many other locations.
